FREE MOVING INVENTORY

Moving inventory checklist: every box, what's inside, where it goes

Give each box a number as you pack it and write down what goes in and the room it is for. Print the list for moving day and a QR label for every box, then tick the boxes off as they come in, so you know right away if one is missing.

  • Free, no account
  • Numbered boxes, each with the room it goes to
  • A printable checklist, QR box labels and an Excel file
  • Works in your browser; what you type is not sent to us

MOVING WITHOUT LOSING THINGS

How to keep track of every box in a move

  • Number each box when you close it, and write the same number on the list. A number is quicker to check off than a description.
  • Write the room in the new home, not the one it came from: that is where the movers will carry it.
  • Stick one label on the top and one on the side, so you can read it when the boxes are stacked.
  • Pack one box to open first: kettle, mugs, chargers, toilet paper, towels, medicines and the tools to put the bed together.
  • Mark glass, plates and screens as fragile, and ask for them to go on top.
  • Carry documents, jewelry, cash and laptops yourself rather than in the truck.
  • Count the boxes when the truck is loaded and again when it is unloaded. Tick each one here as it comes in, and the page lists the ones that are not here yet.
  • Photograph anything valuable or fragile before it goes into a box. If it arrives broken, the photo and the list help with a claim to the movers.

AFTER THE MOVE

Keep the boxes in the app

Download the Excel file and import it into the free AllKeep web app: each box comes in as a box in its room, with the things in it. Add photos, search everything by name, share the home with your family and print QR labels that stay the same when what's inside changes.

Free: items, boxes, QR labels, sharing, import and the report, plus 30 AI photo credits a month.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. The list, the checklist, the labels and the Excel file are free. You don't need an account or an email address.

Can I give the list to the movers?

Yes. Print the checklist: it has every box with its room, what's inside, fragile and open first, and two empty columns to tick when a box is loaded and when it arrives.

How do the QR labels work?

Each label's QR code holds the box's number, room and list. Point a phone camera at it and the list opens in the browser, without an account. The list is inside the code, so anyone who scans it can read it: list only what you would write on the box itself.

Can I keep the list after the move?

Yes. Download the Excel file and import it into the free AllKeep web app. Every box comes in as a box in its room, with its things, and you can add photos later.

Do you see what I type?

No. The page makes the checklist, the labels and the file in your browser and keeps your boxes in this browser only. What you type is not sent to us.
